So Ms. C you came out from lurking. hehe. I guess I can’t hold this baby hostage since I was REALLY tempted since I love how it came out. Hope it’s not to blingy for you. It looks so cool when the sun hits it. Here’s a preview even though it looks better in person.

Hope you like it!!! Tell hubby you only have to drive him crazy for one more day and give him a big hug for me. Hope to see you soon. I’m sure the delivery person will promise not to “misplace”it. Off to watch my kiddies ride their bikes and hopefully tire themselves out quickly.

Wow what a surprise I had in my mailbox today. Back in November I participated in my very first swap it was the green swap, you had to make a bag that could be reused for many purposes to cut back on the use of plastic bags. Anyway it didn’t go so well. It took over a month in a half to get a thank you for the bag that I had sent out and I still haven’t received my bag. Today however I got a very nice package from Farhana the head of the swap because she felt bad that I still haven’t gotten anything. I had pretty much written this swap off to bad luck. So thank you so much Farhana I love everything and it was so thoughtful to think of me. Here’s what she sent.

This was such a surprise since I had know idea she had done all this. I got this great bag to put all sorts of pictures in, I’m thinking maybe fabric pictures might look cool, a notebook that you can put a picture in, a pen and a really cute paper clip. Today was the spring fair at my kids school so no sewing has been done. I’m not sure the exact amount of money my quilt brought in but the box was bulging with tickets and many people told me how much they loved it. That’s always nice to hear so I may have a few commission quilts coming my way since when the name was called for the winner there were many oooohhhh’s that were said. One woman wanted to re do her sun porch to match this quilt so talk about feeling appreciated. I don’t know the name of the person who won it but I’m sure it was going to a good home. After three hours doing that and working and taking down one of the booths I was happy to curl up and read a book while watching my kids ride their bikes. Tomorrow I will sew since I have this great bag I’m making for some very sweet girl whom I know lurks on my blog and I may have to hold it hostage till she leaves me a comment. HMMMM. I will post a pic of it tomorrow when it’s done and maybe she will make me feel a little less lonely?!

So yesterday it was sunny and warmer to the point the sun roof on the car could be opened, the grass was showing and the kids were riding there bikes. This morning however I woke to this
What the heck is this awful white stuff and where did my grass go? So out went the nice springy type mood and in came the fryed Friday mood. It was a day to crawl back in bed but that wasn’t of course an option. After taking the kids to school I did come home and get a little sewing done. I made this cute coaster and practiced my embroidery at the same time.
Yesterday my friend and I did enjoy our nice lunch out and can’t wait to do it again soon. I had gone to Jo-anns earlier in the morning and bought some cute fabric to make sundresses, skirts, or shirts out of. I must consult with the little fashion divas on what they would like but with it snowing today it was just something I wasn’t in the mood for, so hopefully next week when we’re supposed to have weather in the 50’s I will bring it back out and see what wearable item they will become.

Oh how I missed this
yes it’s been two weeks since I had one of these babies and I was in withdrawl. I’ve been really good to avoid those bad bad calories these have but I think I earned it today. Now I will try to go a few more weeks before my next one. I haven’t been having ice cream at night either hey you guys in Alaska did you feel the earth move I’m really being good. Now hopefully the scale will reward me when I get on it in a few days. Not to mention my Serotta and I are getting to know each other quite well. I haven’t even it cursed it to much. We will see how my running shoes and I get along when we head out for a run in the next few days. I’m guessing there will be much swearing involved maybe even a few made up words but it will be worth it. Here’s the four seasons top
Now I just have to piece the back, get the binding out and it load it on the frame. I also have some embellishing ideas to add but am going to wait until after it’s quilted for that. Tomorrow is my day with no kids as it’s Andrew’s day for a playdate yippee. So my plans involve a trip to Jo-anns for a clothing project I want to tackle more on that soon, exercising, sewing, and than a nice lunch out with one of my dearest friends, after that I turn back in to the proverbial pumpkin.

Ok so with a title like that it makes me think of when you were in Elementary school and had to write a paper on what I did over Easter.lol. So here’s what I did over my Easter Weekend. Friday I got an unexpected call from a girlfriend who I hadn’t seen in a long time and she informed me that one of our other friends would be coming back into town for the weekend. She had moved to Virginia back in August and we were missing her. So we agreed to meet at 8am on Saturday to have breakfast. So there was four of us who reunited and it was FANTASTIC. I swear it was like free therapy just what I needed. The three of us who still live here have agreed that we MUST get together at least once a month and one of us in the group wants to learn how to knit. Morag I’m holding you to it. Between Anna and I we will have her knitting and purling in know time. I didn’t realize how much I missed these ladies and can’t figure out that why when Robin left us we all fell apart. SO now we must not let that happen again. It’s sad that life just gets in the way and if we don’t make time to do these things they just won’t happen. Ok a little long winded there and of course I left my camera on the counter so no pick of the morning but after returning home I ended up having a very relaxing day with kids playing out side even though they had to still wear there winter coats, I think Spring has forgotten us here in the northeast. We are supposed have temps in the 50’s NOT in the 30’s. But it hasn’t stopped my three so it left time for me to sit and finish this must read.

I think this might be my favorite from the series. I actually felt like I was right there too. I also made this little sack
from this magazine.
so I would say it was a pretty good weekend. Today I have this little guy home with a fever
but at least he was able to enjoy Easter. Little man is in need of some food so hoping after he has a full tummy I can sew a little since my sewing room is in our family room where he is currently camped out watching Scooby Do.

So it’s supposed to be the second day of spring huh? Yea right!! It’s still snowy out, cold, and no real sign of grass but the calendar says spring.HMMM. I still think it’s hibernating weather especially since it rained and was cold the last two days. So I quilted this quilt for a friend. Her MIL had pieced it before she recently passed away.
I quilted teddy bears into it and it was my first attempt at making up my own pantograph. Here’s a close up of the quilting.

The weather is looking sunny today so maybe the kiddies will be able to go out and play for a little. With a half day yesterday and no school today I hope they don’t get bored to quickly. Hopefully they will allow me to work on my spring swap.

Sorry a little boring on the title. Here’s a bag I made today which I think will be going to Australia for Kathleen. If something changes I will let you know and it will be on etsy. I will say that this is probably the hardest bag I make but I do like the outcome. I also have been commissioned to quilt someone’s quilt for them so I’m hoping to get that on the frame at some point today. Not to much else going on except trying to get my swap stuff in order. I have finally picked what my four seasons swap will be, and I have an idea of what scraps I will be sending for my scrap swap. So without further ado here is the bag.

I can’t believe that it was eight years ago today I had my second child/daughter. After two hrs of labor she came rushing into this world and hasn’t stopped yet. She is my one that can drive you crazy one minute and than says something completely thoughtful and caring the next. She loves all things girly which of course includes fashion and she loves the Top Model show. She is a great skater, skiier, and cyclist. So today is dedicated to her. While I’m no artist I did make this cute shirt for her.

I also had to add the “bling” so she has two crystals on it for that. Today is also UpstateLisa’s anniversary.(I think I finally figured out how to link better late than never) This seems to happen a lot in my quilting friendship group. It always seems to be someones birthday and anniversary on the same day. Happy Birthday my sweet Princess!!!

Well the quilted force must have been with me since I finished the quilt in time. Whew that’s the fastest I’ve ever made a quilt and I don’t care to do it that quick again. Two days just adds a little to much stress. I didn’t have time to bind it by hand but I’m happy with the way it all came out and sometimes machine binding is just fine. So here it is.

and here’s a close up of the quilting.
So it’s all wrapped and ready for delivery first thing tomorrow morning. I also had to make this little gift box for a party that Andrew was invited to.

I also made this card to go with the quilt. Oh yea and there’s a little princess’s birthday coming up on Sunday so we had to have a Ganache cake for school tomorrow which HAD to be made by Gramma. I get to do the one for Sunday and she’s very specific on what she wants. So here is tomorrows version, the little people are little boys and girls and since pansies can’t be found anywhere jelly beans were used. Gramma is the best.
