Knitted Socks
December30,2007 · 1 Comment
Well I’ve finally done it. I’ve signed up to take a three part class on how to knit socks. Hopefully I won’t end up with a tangled mess. The class isn’t until next Sat but I can’t wait, hopefully I will have something for show n tell after the first class. I also picked up a pattern today on making a felted water bottle holder. I’ve started working on it but I”m a slow knitter and I pulled out my whole right side of my back and shoulder into my arm. Motrin is sort of helping but not much. I’m thinking I did it taking Andrew up the rope tow, so I’m very glad he’s past that thing now and it’s all chair lifts. Well it’s hot coca time and knitting time. I’m making sure I enjoy Christmas Vacation as well, since it’s almost over and then we will be back to the crazy school schedules. I also know that there are a lot of you who click on my blog so how about some comments I’m starting to feel lonely.hehe.
Christmas Vacation
December28,2007 · No Comments
Well Christmas Vacation has been great so far. After recovering from Christmas day where Santa brought lots of great goodies we are finally in relaxing mode. The day after Christmas was filled with laziness and playing with all the toys. Yesterday we took a nice day trip had a wonderful lunch only to have it start SNOWING and a 1hr and 15min drive home turned into a 2 1/2 hr drive home. It was extremely stressful and seeing cars flipped over on their side and all over the sides of the road certainly didn’t help. We do have four wheel drive so that of course wasn’t a problem for us but still quiet scary. I was very glad when we walked in the door. To burn off some stress after having a glass of Egg Nog I decided to take down the Christmas decorations and then figured if know one objected the tree. Now my house is back in order except for the toys that I let the kids keep in the living room for awhile which is normally a big no no. Everyone seems happy with the arrangement so I don’t feel guilty. Last year we kept it up thru New Years but after our annual New Years Eve party I swore I would never leave it up again. Between staying up late and of course feeling a little yucky in the morning their was no way I was having to take a tree down New Years Day again. Today we took the kids skiing and they all did wonderful. Andrew is skiing the face of our local mountain and after a few more times should be able to ski all over. The girls of course can’t wait for that but if they stay together we do let them go off a little bit from us. The girls had skating lessons tonight and are really getting their routines down for their competition coming up in January. With all of these activities the sewing machine hasn’t really gotten used but I did start a little on my four seasons swap. I will give a hint it has to do with two items that make me think of winter. One you wear and the other is pretty to watch. Once I get a little further on it I will show a photo. Here are some photo’s of the kids trying out their new snow shoes Santa brought, a great bag and new cutting mat (mine was pretty shot and made everyone nervous I was going to chop my finger off), a very special friend made me the bag of her own design and I just LOVE it, and hubby bought be a new light which I don’t have a pic off but I do have a picture of the other gift he gave me. My very own Serotta ottrott it still has to be built up but that doesn’t take him long to do. I can’t wait to ride it of course my backside might feel different. Hope everyone is having a great week, I’m really enjoying my hubby being home.![]()

Oh yea and here’s a picture of Skyler being a bad kitty. While I was waiting for the appetizers to get done in the oven Christmas day, I had my carrying cozy waiting so I could place the dish in it and go, well Skyler had other ideas.![]()
I guess he was hoping to go to Grandmas too.

Happy Holidays
December24,2007 · No Comments
Happy Holidays to all. Here’s to a nice quiet holiday. Festivities for our family start around 4:30 this evening where we have an early dinner with family, go to church, and then to my n laws so the kids can get their Christmas Jammies. On the way home we look at all the holiday decorations, and then it’s bed time for the kiddies. Tomorrow will be packed with a little morning chaos starting at our house, then to my parents, then to my n laws and then back to home for a little while before heading back to my parents where both families will meet up for dinner around 2pm. I can’t wait to see what Santa is going to bring everyone.
Happy Holiday’s,
Janey

Checking It Twice
December22,2007 · 1 Comment
Well I’ve made a list and checked it twice and FINALLY all the gifts are done. With being up until 2am this morning and then sewing most of the day I have finally finished all gifts. Yea. With it being a crazy week I never thought I would get it all done in time. The teachers gifts were all delivered and loved by all. Yesterday was the start of Christmas Vacation and we ended up in the dentist because Alyssa fractured her tooth biting into an M*M of all things. Two hours later we were back home, but she did great and never cried. Then the poor thing woke up this morning and now has 102 fever. She looks so sad laying on the couch watching Christmas movies but she says at least there’s good stuff on today to watch. Gotta love her.Everyone is very eagerly waiting for Santa to come and hopefully all there wishes will be granted. Here are the pics of the latest gifts. There’s reversible placemats and napkins, reversible coasters (idea I got from Julia at minecreations),coffee sleeve with gift card, a hello kitty “quick” bag, and of course my favorite a “messenger” bag of my own design with a matching notetaker, tissue holder, and mouse pad. I would love to keep this set but can’t.Boohoo.![]()

A Little Gift
December18,2007 · 1 Comment
Well imagine my surprise when I opened the mail today to find a great homemade card and bookmark from Julia over at minecreations blog. Awhile back I had entered one of her giveaways and she thought it would be nice to send all of us “losers” something. Thanks Julia. After having Andrew home sick today with a fever it was a nice pick me up. I’m like a big kid since I loooove presents big or small.![]()
I have been making such great progress on the last few gifts still to make. Last night I finished another apron and notetaker, and today I was able to cut out 24 place mats and napkins. They’re going to be in sets of 12 and reversible. So I figured assembly line would be the way to go. So now I just have to get them together and that will be two more gifts down and I think after that I will only have one more gift to make. God I hope I’m not forgetting anyone or anything. Here’s a pic of the apron![]()
since there’s snow on the ground and no sun, indoor pictures must be taking and of course the lighting isn’t that great today.

True Love
December17,2007 · 2 Comments
So who says dogs and cats can’t get a long. This is real proof since Xena used to view cats as prey until Skyler came into our family. Well today is another Monday with another kid home from school. My 7yr decided she needed a mommy day. Normally that would be fine but the week before Christmas wouldn’t have been my first choice. I did manage to get Laundry caught up and some sewing done so hopefully I will have some more pics of sewing goodies. I may actually get everything done before Christmas Eve. At least I hope. Yikes.

December15,2007 · No Comments
Ok I know I already blogged today (over technical problems) So here’s one more thing off my to do list.![]()
I found this fabric in my stash and figured it was perfect to keep all my scraps in. We also just got back from picking out our tree. Another thing off the to do list. Now I must primp a little and polish my nails since we have two parties to go to tonight. Then if there’s time some more gift making.

Where Did They Go?
December15,2007 · 2 Comments
Help I was just viewing my blog and noticed that a lot of my pics have vanished. I did have to delete some to make room for more uploads but they were still able to be seen. Does anyone know how or why this happened? Please let me know. I guess now I may have to upload my pics all over again.ugh. However some of the ones I did delete to make more room for more uploads are still visible. Since I’m new to blogging do they expire or something after time? Please someone tell me.
Thanks.

In the nick of time

Well my goal was to finish the two teacher bags by Friday well it’s 10:40pm so while I didn’t finish them by Friday I did finish them on Friday. ![]()

I even finished the matching notetakers, tissue holders, and key chain. Wrapping can wait until tomorrow. The week has been crazy. Wednesday when I pulled up to school to pick up the girls I noticed all the fifth graders were dressed up. Mine was sporting jeans and a t-shirt. Well apparently it was concert day. Oh yea and we had a concert that night to go to. I was never told. Well the stress level started rising quickly especially when we got home and she had nothing appropriate that fit to wear to a Christmas concert. Thankfully my dad came to stay with the two younger ones so I could take the oldest shopping. An hour later and we found a dress, tights, and shoes. The concert was short and sweet. We had a nice little chit chat how she needs to be a little more on top of it. Thursday we had an eye appt to go to for a contact re-check. They told me it would take 15min so I figured ok the four year old can handle that. An HOUR later we walked out and it was snowing pretty heavy. I was glad when we finally got home and could relax. It was like a winter wonderland.![]()
teamwork at it’s best.
the outfit we ended up with. I hope tomorrow will be a little quieter. We do have an adult only Christmas Party to go to so hopefully the nasty snow storm we are supposed to get will hold of until we are home, we really need a night out with out kids. I do have one project I hope to get to probably in the morning. I was planning on making a drawstring bag to keep all my scrap fabric in since the black trash bag is full and looks horrible. However I wasn’t planning on making it this soon but my sweet little boy decided to dump them all for me.![]()
and he didn’t just dump he threw too. There’s always more projects to be made.haha
